You've reached Besmella-Quake. We might not be the best resource any more, but we sure as fuck like Quake more than anyone else. Oh, did we mention we've been around for nine years? Yeah, that's right.

Round one is done, ten games of sixteen got played, Some close games and a lot of fun was had. Unfortunately six walkovers were handed out. Klintz and Fierus have opted out of the comp, so to those I denied entry after 32 players signed up there are two spots available.

Round two:

Maggoo vs cTM
Quoll vs Hellster
Chemist vs TC
Mob vs Wacked
Inertia vs Twi
Morrie vs Diablo
Dorsy vs Contagious
Gravity vs Enforcer
Loser bracket round one:
Spawn vs Sine
The Fuzz vs Moddy
Mo_Girks vs Terra-Stalka
Insane vs bye
Guardian vs Scorpion
b vs Sam
Krusha vs bye
Phobos vs Pincus

Anyone keen on getting some FFA going at nights? If we make one or two nights a week "Quake Night" maybe we can get the remaining players these days to come together rather than rocking up at servers randomly?

It's not a huge commitment and if people know for example on a particular day and time that there'll be people looking for a game it might revive things a little.

Thoughts?

E.g. Monday Night Fights @ 9:30pm

The FFA is done, we had about 15 people show, so I've mainly hand picked the seedings, I hope I got it correct:

Moddy vs quoll
cTM vs The Fuzz
Maggoo vs Sam
insane vs Inertia
Hellster vs Mo_Girks
Sine vs Enforcer
mob vs krusha
c0ntagi0us vs Fierus
tc vs Phobos
wacked vs Terra-Stalka
guardian vs Gravity
Pincus vs Morr1e
Diablo vs Scorpion
twi vs b
dorsy vs klintz
Spawn vs chemist
The deadline to play the first round is the 26th. For those of you who are unfamiliar with double elimination, if your opponent fails to contact you, you get a walkover, first time you lose you go to the loser bracket and play the other losers from the previous round, good luck, have fun!

As the Quake moon waxes and wanes, I'm loth to observe that some of the regulars have been neglecting QW. But contrariwise I'm sex to observe the influx of newbs and reborn old players being thrown at the AusQW battlements and seeing which ones stick! Too many to keep track of! Unfortunately of course a lot of them swiftly get the fuck out, after they recognise the investment required, or lack the patience to configure an acceptable set up.

Where do they come from?; Quakers' activity in Team Fortress 2- povohat, shadow, savage, terrorhead etc.; Frag movies on youtube; references in CPMA, Warsow, esreality.com communities; word of mouth? Dunno, But something needs to be done to consolidate them and get them soliciting their mates to come get themselves the fuck fragged.

Something like a duel tournament beginning with an FFA en masse to divide the skilled if varied enough. Hopefully along with a duel/2on2 comp for the established, to display the elite collective edifice of 12 years of Quake skill.

The uni semester is about to end so this ought to happen in a few weeks. What's that? You say we're too negligent, lazy, and responsible for this to happen? Well let's try anyway.

If you're interested in participating, or in need of some help configuring your setup or finding opponents of comparable skill email me, or add me to msn: yofoe.runamok @ gmail.com
