Greetings all,

There are a few new Australian qw servers popping up around the place which is fantastic to see. With people like Foe and Claw also pitching in to organise tourneys etc. it is really helping to keep the qw scene over here alive, and provide an attractive environment for new players and rusties to enjoy a few games :)

I've been thinking about hosting an Australian master server to help us find a server to play on - I've stuck one up here:

QW Clan Arena tourney!
everyone that has been waiting for a tourney in australia is finally getting one.
It is a 3on3 tourney. Now before you go and ask why 3on3 rather than 4on4, think on how old quake is and that the current community in australia has been inactive for a while. Why Clan Arena? Well because its something new and exciting that is perfect for team play.

Now before you guys start getting mad at me for not setting up something for DM. Read everything

Basically long time ago clan arena was played really popular in the US from 1997 - 2000. Then we had a period of high activity during STA when the site was active. We had about 7seasons.. finally the site went dead and people went inactive. Finally I came back recently and trying to get this running. Now here are the rules

grenades set to 10 because of to much spam in the past
rockets set to 40 because of same reason as spam in past

there will be fall damage, so you just cant go around jumping everywhere and not expect to get hurt

waterdamage, so you cant be aquaman and pretend to have gills, youll drown

suddendeath enabled. This is one of the most important features. What this is when it is enabled. you have clan A vs clan B.
Clan A is camping RA and clan B is camping center area. Neither clan wants to fight each other, so what happens? clans camp and rounds take forever to finish, people whine and moan and quit. So what this does is for example if after example 150seconds the round doesn't finish a countdown of 20 begins. When that happens clans have 20 seconds to find the other clan and kill. If not!!! exciting part... everyone that is still alive is spawned at 666 and has to battle the sudden death. If at this point your not dead after 15 seconds, health begins to go down and you will die eventually. So this enables tournament matches to go smoothly without worrying too much about how long a match will take.

So how do you register your team? well basically right now our official channel is #qwca.fusion on quakenet.. but you can find me on #besmella on enterthegame because thats where i found all the australian players.

So what do you have to do play? you don't need no special configs or extra supreme addons like TF or CTF and other mods.

Where do you play? Well Scorp has been kind enough to lend us a port and test out the clanarena here qw.teamdamage.com:27505

Now I also forgot..
This is for australia division like i mentioned, this isnt goin to be australia vs europe. This is AUS clans vs AUS clans.. and since we have other divisions we will try to incorporate every now and then an interncontinental match for example.
Clan A,B,C,D,F,G,H,G are all from australia
so matches will be like

week1 vs clan B wednesday 19:30
week2 vs clan C wednesday 19:30
week3 vs clan D wednesday 19:30
week3 vs unf! (USA) sunday 11:30
week4 vs clan E wednesday 19:30
week5 vs clan F wednesday 19:30
week5 vs anm(brazil) sunday 10:00

So primarily you'll be playing with in clans from australia.. but!!! to spice things up we are trying to incorporate that ... were still in discussion but for now join #besmella look for me claw and send me a msg. also if your on quakenet join #qwca.fusion

Wondering what happened to the stalwart IPGN servers? According to wm the entire iPrimus games network is temporarily down. For those of you who don't know there are Gamespace (203.34.186.25:27700) , and teamdamage servers available (202.62.137.98:27500 - *:27504)
